Christ-Centered

The Christ-Centered Life

“ ...Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:5-8

The goal is for these evidences of the Christ-centered life to be “in you and abound.” That means they are to be personally yours and constantly growing more dominant. Peter says that progress in developing these virtues will mean we will not be “barren.” The word literally means to be stalled or stuck – and therefore, ineffective. Are you frustrated by how ineffective your spiritual life seems to be? Developing these characteristics is a good place to start! In the process of working on them we will get to know God! For these traits to develop there will have to be a lot of interaction between you and your Savior! This may seem like a daunting task to be able to fulfill the entire list, but God is glorified by every single step we take in the right direction!
